difference between ft232 and max 232?

I did the same when I was frustrated because the cable I bought from
cellcorner wasn't working!
Not that I had any hope to fix it or understand it :((
However, as I have already said the problem was the jack not fitting
properly in, if you have the same problem, just cut off a bit of plastic,
now it's my favourite cable ;))
