A few years ago I was on a quest to bring to light the truth about DPMI, specifically the True DPMI specification. For an explanation of what I mean by True DPMI see the article I wrote once upon a time in 1998 for one free software mailing list, reproduced here in dpmicl1.txt (with a follow-up in dpmicl4.txt). I never succeeded in my quest to obtain a copy of the True DPMI spec, all I could ever get besides the commonly available stuff was the 1990-10-31 MS-DOS API Extensions for DPMI Hosts document. I never even got the latter in electronic form, only on paper, but I have manually retyped it. It is in `dpmiext.txt'. Unable to obtain the True DPMI spec I at one time in 1999 (out of total desperation) decided to try to recreate it myself by combining the DPMI v0.9 spec that's been floating around the net (dpmi90.txt) with the Extensions document. The result of that effort is in `dpmitrue.txt'. One implementation of True DPMI is Quarterdeck's QDPMI (qdpmi.zip). dpmiinf.zip contains the source and executable for my DPMIINF program and the output it has produced in the several environments I had access to for testing. Also if you care dpmi100.zip contains Intel's "official" DPMI v1.00 spec, the PostScript master from which they printed the hard copies that were mailed out, although "DPMI v1.00" is very, very far from True DPMI.
